• after the war
The Battle of Hogwarts took place just months ago and with it, the end of Voldemort's second reign of terror. Magical creatures are scarcely found around the United Kingdom and Muggleborns are nearly depleted in numbers. Purebloods are almost just as bad off, as it would seem Halfbloods survived the best in odds.

After much debate with the new Ministry of Magic, new classes have been added and some old ones removed. The school has finally reopened after months of rebuilding, and students will return to hopefully rekindle the magical school to its former glory. Hogwarts will never be the same again, or will it? The new generation of students have arrived. The year 1998 will hopefully be a better year than the past few.

  • THE THREE BROOMSTICKS

A well-known inn and a frequent haunt of Hogwarts students. It's warm and comfortable, is packed every time, and is a great spot to drink butterbeer. Although they also serve firewhisky, gillywater, mulled mead, red currant rum, and even cherry syrup and soda with ice and an umbrella.

  • THE HOG'S HEAD TAVERN

Located a block or so off High Street, the Hog's Head Inn has been a fixture of Hogsmeade for hundreds of years. A worn-out wooden sign hangs over the door, advertising with a "wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it". It's known for its cheapness, at least relative to the Three Broomsticks down the street, and attracts a shall we say... interesting clientele.

  • HOGSMEADE STATION

The station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to Hogwarts Castle. The station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the Hogwarts grounds.

  • PUDDIFOOT PARK

Where the (in)famous Madame Puddifoot's once stood is now a small green space, dotted with brilliantly pink hydrangeas, peonies and roses. One of the golden cherubs from the tea shop resides in a tree and will often fling confetti on unwary passers-by. As always, the only people who visit the place seem to be couples looking for a quiet place to snog.

  • RUINS OF THE SHRIEKING SHACK

Destroyed during the Second Wizarding War, what used to be the source of so many scary stories told by wizarding parents and older siblings around campfires is now nothing but a low pile of crumbled foundation and rotting wood. Still, some Hogsmeade residents say the place is as haunted as ever; visit after dark at your own risk.

  • ZONKO'S JOKE SHOP

Zonko's is a favourite place for Hogwarts students to shop. They carry "jokes and tricks to fulfill even Fred's and George's wildest dreams," including Dungbombs, Hiccup Sweets, Frog Spawn Soap, and Nose-Biting Teacups. During the dark time of 1996 and 1997, Zonko's closed and was boarded up. And now it's reopened!
