• after the war
The Battle of Hogwarts took place just months ago and with it, the end of Voldemort's second reign of terror. Magical creatures are scarcely found around the United Kingdom and Muggleborns are nearly depleted in numbers. Purebloods are almost just as bad off, as it would seem Halfbloods survived the best in odds.

After much debate with the new Ministry of Magic, new classes have been added and some old ones removed. The school has finally reopened after months of rebuilding, and students will return to hopefully rekindle the magical school to its former glory. Hogwarts will never be the same again, or will it? The new generation of students have arrived. The year 1998 will hopefully be a better year than the past few.

outside the net
Everyone wants to make friends on the ever so increasingly large internet, but there’s numerous stalkers and con artists out there that not even we can protect our members from at all times. So to help keep your real identity safe, please follow the following rules;

  • Don’t use your real name as your character’s name/username. Choose a name for your character and do NOT base the character exactly like you or someone you know. You could base a character off yourself or another, but to copy someone’s identity into role play is still identity theft and leaving personal information out there to be taken.
  • Your age must be 13 years or older in real life. There could be vulgar language from any member at any given time and we’d rather you know this is a PG-13 site you’re about to enter.
  • Do not give your personal information out. You have to understand that by giving away your personal cell phone number, ID, or address could be a potential hazard to your safety and we advise you not to do so unless you feel extremely comfortable with the other person. Even giving a picture of yourself could be harmful, but it is your choice on this matter, we simply advise against it.

a step inside
Not everyone who joins HogwartsPrime knows everything about creating a character. There are thousands of possibilities on what you want your character to be like, how they look, what they do. It’s seriously endless. Here at HP we strive for a little bit more realisms than most. So if you have any questions on logical histories or personalities, all you need to do is ask! Even then, there’s a few rules to follow before you create a masterpiece.

  • Personalities – There are many different personalities, and honestly there are no two identical ones to every tee. Quirks define your personality and you can tweak this to your own standard. There are stereotypes we all fall under nonetheless, and certain ones we want to avoid if we want to be able to RP with others continuously.
  • Histories – Everyone has a background, even an amnesiac one. In these profiles, you fill them out according to their history not from their P.O.V. So yes they do have a mother and father even if they themselves are not aware of this.
  • Child Abuse – Like any place, child abuse is a very frowned upon performance of injury to a child whether mentally, physically or sexually. If your character undergoes an abuse of such, it MUST be VERY Minor. Borderline Abuse and more like Neglect. I do not want burning, raping, etc to a child in this site what so ever. None mentioned, and none happening. This gets you an automatic suspension from the site or deletion of that character.
  • Character Limit – Yes, we now have a character creation limit. The limit is currently 5 characters max at any time, whether adult or student they all can only add up to 5. We will be tracking each and everyone’s characters and seeing who is creating more than that and removing their extra characters or warning and suspending their accounts.
  • Mary-Sues & Gary-Sues don’t belong – They really don’t. In fact, it’s often encouraged for your character to have weaknesses and an unpopular sort of trait of theirs. If you’re too ‘perfect’ then no one wants to RP with that because you’ll eventually run out of ideas.
  • Supernatural – We have decided this time around that there will be little to no supernatural beings on the site until the adults are opened to the entire wizarding world on the site. So while the site remains focused on the school, no supernatural beings (vampires, faries, werewolves, etc) The only kind would be metamorphangus and even then that is extremely rare and would have to be heavily discussed between our staff members on site.
  • Blood Status – The timeline would be after the Battle of Hogwarts, when a good many of purebloods are dead. Muggleborn would have died severely from the inquisition period, or without their souls from the Dementors. As such, Halfbloods would be the ruling blood status of this time period. We will put restrictions on Muggleborn and Purebloods if they get too much. Though Pureblood more so than Muggleborn.
  • Restrictions – As I said in the rule mentioned above, We will put restrictions on certain factors of a character such as year, blood status, supernaturals, etc. I would check out the announcements pertaining to this so that you do not get in trouble here. This is to ensure we don’t have a bunch of fourth year purebloods running around.
  • Following Story lines – After creating your character you will need to make sure you are following what happens to your character when you can. At the end of each year you will be asked to summarizes their year so that we can see your character’s development coming along. This is better than having a posting requirement really.
  • Canons – All canons will be made NPCs this time around until we feel they are needed and vital. Meaning they can be godmodded, but with extreme caution. If we feel you are abusing a NPC for your own needs we will take action. Mind you this is still a Canon world, meaning no random Potters and Weasleys and Malfoys being born that were never there.
  • GodModding – Forgot to mention this one. Would YOU want your every action dictated by someone else? Thought not. Only certain admin accounts can do so and only then this is so they can help stir up a little trouble in your threads for you to have future plots. Godmodding is taking someone else’s actions into your own hands.

playing the game
Everyone has probably rped somewhere in their lives, whether online or… ahem... in the bedroom. Really the only difference between the two is a safeword and physical contact (and the fun), but that’s beside the point. Roleplaying is as easy to do as breathing, whether it’s novel-worthy or just a little tidbit of words here and there. But both roleplays do have their rules and here’s ours for in-game (IG);

  • Post Word Count – We do need to install one of these unfortunately. So plain and simple, the word count is 50 words. That is extremely lenient since you can talk about the scenery for most of it. We do this because think of those who write very nice posts for you to respond to, and all you say is Hi in it. Consider who you’re rping with on site if you want to make more friends outside a clique.
  • R-E-S-P-E-C-T – Yeah I forgot the rest of the words to that song but hey you get the meaning. Respect! Don’t go badmouthing other members, especially in front of them or another admin. Remember we don’t all speak pure English grammar since birth, we learn it as we go.
  • Double Trouble Posting – Yeah, don’t post something in rp, wait a few minutes, and post again to yourself. I’ll just find it sad you’re rping with yourself and make a comment about it. So thus, just edit your previous post or really just let someone reply to it.
  • Third Person Point of View – While we would all love to hear it in first person, we’d really rather not. Don’t be using ‘I’ or ‘me’ in something that isn’t speaking “quotes”.
  • Grammar etiquette – Have you ever met one of those stuck ups who hate when there’s a random period in there for no reason? I have and they’re annoying, but hey they have a point sometimes. Try to keep in mind that you’re not a first grader/first year in primary school, and if you were then really, what the heck are you doing here? If you have any problems or questions with grammar feel free to talk to someone about that and they could help you out.
  • Harassment – We don’t approve of any kind of bullying outside of the roleplay game, so if you’re harassing an actual member whether about their grammar, name, etc, then you’ll be suspended, pranked in horrible ways, or stalked by a head of mod or admin. So think carefully about this. We like a good drama every now and then and will not hesitate to prolong the drama of stalking your harassment.

you’re not a Potter
This simply means you’re not somehow above the law capable of breaking into banks and escaping with your magical dragon or killing professors and claiming they’re possessed and then getting jelly beans and house points as a consolation prize for just surviving.

  • Level 1. Warnings – If you get up to 3 warnings within a 6 month period then you will be moved up to a level 2 punishment. Warnings are put on your profile by a mod or admin with a reason as to why. You will also be owled a warning to cease and desist your wrongdoing.
  • Level 2. Suspension – This can be up anywhere from 1 day to 6 months and if you get another 3 warnings and you’ve been already through a level 2 suspension, you’ll be moved up to a level 3 punishment. Suspensions are being stripped of any titles and rights to posting and you will be unable to post on the site for that given time. If you feel you’ve been wronged, email Tyler at MARKOFPRIME@GMAIL.COM to discuss your case.
  • Level 3. Suspension for a longer time – This will be anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on the severity of the situation. You can be moved up to a level 4 punishment if this punishment is unsuitable.
  • Level 4. Expulsion – This is straight and simple. You will be deleted and your IP will be monitored heavily to ensure you do not return. I would hope I never have to enforce this one because really 1 warning should be enough.
  • Level 5. Watch yourself – I do know how to find your email and IP and where you visit online and stalk you to the extremes if you get to this level and annoy me greatly to this point. Don’t ever let this happen. So if you’re banned, then stay banned and if you feel it was unjust then email me and you can argue your case.
