• after the war
The Battle of Hogwarts took place just months ago and with it, the end of Voldemort's second reign of terror. Magical creatures are scarcely found around the United Kingdom and Muggleborns are nearly depleted in numbers. Purebloods are almost just as bad off, as it would seem Halfbloods survived the best in odds.

After much debate with the new Ministry of Magic, new classes have been added and some old ones removed. The school has finally reopened after months of rebuilding, and students will return to hopefully rekindle the magical school to its former glory. Hogwarts will never be the same again, or will it? The new generation of students have arrived. The year 1998 will hopefully be a better year than the past few.

So you want to buy a wand?

To buy a wand from us is quite simple. Please take a look at Wand Creation and look at all those beautiful options. Then you'll simply come here and roleplay a minimum of 100 words trying the different wands, maybe making note what fits your character better or not. Once that is posted we will edit your post with your new wand choosing you and add you to the Registry. The wand chooses the wizard after all! A wand is 7 Galleons (119 sickles) so you'll have to make sure you have the right amount of sickles to afford such an expensive part of your magical experience.

Wands Registry Wandic11

Meet our new Shopkeeper: Simon Clearwater, pureblood from the United States. Age 27 years old. Ollivander's apprentice to the shop. Overeager to the extent of being a bit clumsy with his work. Gangly, with hair that won't lie flat and a tendency to trip over himself.

Note: Ollivander still steps in to help with the wands when Simon is otherwise occupied with finding new wand materials. For the most part though, Simon is now in charge.

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Roz Turner Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:04 pm

Roz looked at all the wands in awe; her father had let her come in alone, saying that the wand only needed her.

“...so....to try wands, it'll choose me,” she mumbled brightly to herself as she looked about. Soon the shopkeeper was upon the 11 year old, cheerfully chatting with her a moment before taking her a little further into the shop and handing her a wand to try. She heard him say “Elm, unicorn tail hair, twelve inches, unyielding.” She didn't like the way it felt unbending, it felt uneasy in her palm, as if trying to escape her; she hadn't even waved it yet when it was snatched from her hands. “No, no, you are not forceful enough, buck up a little, child! That's not a wand for you.” She tried to say something only to have another shoved into her hands. He was excited as she was!

“Perhaps this one is better for such a cheerful girl, huh, you think? Springy rosewood, phoenix feather...nine inches....” She liked this one better, and he nodded at her smile, grinning back in response. It felt like it fit her hand, and warmed her palm; it was nice, she wanted to take aim and call upon the magic. Was this how her father felt? She set it down, feeling a little sad to part with it, but said nothing and happily caught the next one handed to her, which he snatched away before she even got the measurements other than the veela hair core, expressively explaining it wasn't for her – she was fine, it felt icy in her palm so much it hurt, she didn't like it.

The next one felt uneasy too – maple with a coral core, six inches and brittle. It felt like she had to touch it delicately, and she hated the way it fit her palm. A box nearby exploded when she gripped it tightly, and she squeaked in surprise, nearly losing her glasses; it was snatched away too, and she was glad to see it go, though she had to catch the man's hand as he nearly tumbled. He thanked her, she smiled, and he went off to retrieve another, jabbering about her nature and how the wand would choose her based on it. He was fun to listen to, and it was an amazing concept, the wand choosing her....

“Try this one! Maybe this one will be perfect for you - silver lime, supple, thirteen inches with dragon heartstring core. It looks like it would suit you!” This one felt warm too, but in a different way, like a slowly growing fire. It too fit her palm, and she felt the desire to lift it, to try magic though she knew no words to summon it. She felt...at ease with her magic, as she never had before. Sparks flew from the tip, just for a moment before she startled – was that her failure to control again, or did it mean something? He nodded and took the wand from her; she didn't want to let the wand go, it felt so...right in her hand.

“Hey, it looks like we have a match, don't we, Miss Turner?”

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Aaliyah Night Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:10 am

Aaliyah looked around the shop in awe; there were so many wands there! Her father and mother had let her come on her own while they went to get her other supplies for Hogwarts, they told her that the wand chooses the witch therefore they were not needed there with her.

She was startled by the elderly man that ran the shop who chatted to her with a cheerful expression while pulling her a bit further inside before a wand was shoved in her hand with a mumbled "8 1/2 inches, yew and Veela Hair, very supple." from the male. She gripped the wand in her hand and gave it a slight wave, concentrating on the feel of it in her hand. It felt...okay but something wasn't right as if the wand was too temperamental while she wasn't, it just didn't sit right with her. Before she could contemplate further the wand was snatched from her.

"Hmm... Not this one." He eyed her up and down. "How about this one then." He handed her another wand after he ducked behind all the boxes and pulled out another box and took the wand out. "9 inches, very brittle with redwood and Dragon heartstring core." This wand definitely wasn't the right choice for her. It felt too powerful in her hand, while it did feel okay the wand itself didn't feel as if it was the right choice for her. That wand was quickly snatched back from her as well.

"While you are powerful, that wand isn't the choice for you." He mumbled as he took out another one, handing it to her. As her fingers wrapped around it, he snatched it off her, mumbling that the Kelpie Mane core was definitely not for her. The next one -Oak with Troll whisker core, eight and a quarter inches, brittle- was quickly snatched away from her as well.

"Hmm... I know!" The elderly man brightened up as he walked further into the shop, ducking into one of the many rows of shelves. "How about you try this one Miss Night." He came out, handing her a wand. "Cherry tree with Unicorn Tail hair core, nine and a half inches, pliant." As her fingers curled around it, her eyes widened and her mouth parted open. This one felt right. She felt her magic rush through her hand and into the wand, as it the wand was made just for her. She could feel power rushing through her. Giving the wand a slight wave, green, silver and gold sparks erupted from it. The elderly man nodded and took the wand from her, placing it back in the box. She was sad to have to part with it. She didn't want to! She wanted the wand back in her hand.

"Well Miss Night, I think that you have your match for a wand."

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Evan Sinclaire Sun Jun 23, 2013 10:15 am

"Right," Evan murmured to himself as he pushed his way through the door. Looking over his shoulder he could see his family's black town car idling on the other side of the road, waiting for him. If he stared hard enough, he could probably see the outline of his driver hunched over the wheel like a statue behind the tinted windows. Of course, the boy didn't have a chance to find out when a gruff voice made him turn around.

"Come in! Come in! I was expecting you," An old man with slightly hunched shoulders padded out one of the doors that probably led to the back room where the wands were stored. Surprised, it took Evan a second before he realized the old man was talking to him. With a slight grimace, Evan sauntered forward until he was directly in front of the counter. He didn't know what to say, so he let his eyes fall on the stack of boxes the man was holding. "Oh yes," The man held the boxes up and placed them delicately over the counter. He flipped one of the lids open and drew out a wand, its polished surface glinting slightly. "Blackthorn, Serpent Scale, 13 inches, Unyielding." The man's eyes peered up at Evan knowingly. "A fine fit don't you think, Mr. Sinclaire?"

If Evan was surprised that the man knew his name, he didn't show it. Of course his father would have contacted Ollivander beforehand. Evan didn't know if he was annoyed or used to it. There was no denying the experience behind the gaze of the old man, but Evan could help it; he doubted Ollivander could choose a wand for him this fast. "What makes you so sure?" he asked wanly, leaning against the counter while he kept his eyes on the wand that was offered to him.

"I'm never sure," Ollivander said in a soft voice. "The wand chooses the wizard and I am merely here as a conduit. Now come on, try it out and we'll see."

"Sounds promising." Evan struggled not to roll his eyes as he reached out to take the wand. Almost instantly, he felt an electric shock run up his arm and into his body. It didn't hurt, but it was definitely something. It probably showed in Evan's eyes because the old man nodded enthusiastically.

"Go on then, give it a wave!"

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Aaron Reed Mon Jun 24, 2013 3:08 pm

Aaron looked back at his parents hesitantly, who appeared to stick out of the crowd like a sore thumb. His sister had been left at his Aunt's house since his parents had not wanted her around all the magic and strangeness that their eldest child had developed. Though they loved both their children dearly, whether one was stranger to their non-magical world or not. 'Go on.' His mother mouthed to him, beckoning him to take a new step into his magical journey.
Stepping into the shop, he shut the door behind him and looked around. "Hello? I'm here to get a wand I guess."

Hearing a loud thud combined with the sound of someone running up to the counter caused Aaron to jerk back into the door. Wincing and rubbing his shoulder, the man who had just appeared in front of him grinned. "Here to get a wand then? Let me see here...Ah here we are!" Reaching up the man pulled out a box from the middle of a pile, causing the rest of the boxes to fall on his head. "Oh. I'll clean that up later then. C'mon then. Try her out! She's a beautiful one. Yew wood, Coral core, 8 inches, and supple. What do you think?"

Aaron took the wand from the odd man who couldn't have been more than thirty and just looked at it. "Is something supposed to happen?"

"Well you're supposed to wave it. All the children who come in here usually wave it around like crazies the minute they get their hands on a wand. But let me guess...you're a Muggleborn aren't you? Mr. Ollivander has told me about you. Said there would be a child who wouldn't wave the wand today. Told me to stay on your left side, but I haven't a clue why. Aaron right?"

The boy stared up at the man in a mix of shock, awe, and horror. How did they know who he was? Trying not to let it bother him, Aaron waved the wand and a bolt shot from it and knocked the man back into a bunch of other wand boxes. Aaron set the wand down quickly and backed away a few feet.

Pulling some wands out of his unruly hair, the man grinned. "Nope. Okay. Not that one. Try this. Rowan wood, Pegasus Wing Feather core, 9 inches, quite flexible."

Grasping the wand the man held out, Aaron instantly felt right the moment his fingers touched it. Yet again, he didn't wave it. "I think it's this one," he finally murmured. "Do you still want me to wave it around until something happens? I don't think I want to send you flying again Mister...?"

"Simon Clearwater dear boy, and don't even worry about it. I can see that the new wand has chosen you. Don't forget that the wand chooses the wizard. You were destined for this wand, whether you realize it or not."

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Darcy Harlow Cody Fri Jul 26, 2013 4:01 pm

Darcy was not really paying attention to who was serving her. She simply held out her hand at the time when it seemed right and a wand was placed in it. He was talking to her but she was not listening. She only really focused on him at all when he mentioned the qualities of the wand. "Apple, troll whisker, six inches, pliant.” She raised it up and bought it swishing down. She did not like the feeling. It just did not feel right. Plus the shower of sparks and the shop keeper extracting the wand from her fist told her it was the wrong wand for her.

"Something ... something ... unbending ... something ... rosewood, coral ... eight inches....” Darcy thought maybe she should actually listen rather than just picking out what she wanted to hear each time. She was too focused on the idea of the wands though. This one did not feel right either. However this one felt so wrong she did not even try it. She shuddered and hastily put the wand down on the counter. She shook her head and would not pick it up again. Not that the shop keeper tried to make her. He just nodded away and chatted excitedly about something else.

Darcy almost felt that the wand she tried next had to be the right one otherwise she had failed. The next one had to be the right one. Maybe there was going to be no right one. Inside she almost felt panicked. What if no wand chose her? Her mother had warned her it might happen. Of course that might have been a joke. Darcy never got those things. Shaking her head she turned back to the shop keeper and accepted the wand she was being offered. She had to ask him to repeat what it was.

"Rosewood, Serpent Scale, 10 inches and surprisingly swishy."

Darcy took the wand prepared for it to reject her. She had resigned herself to the fact no wand would ever chose her. However to her surprise the wand felt like it belonged in her hand. No trusting this she then waved it. It sent a rush of warmth through her that Darcy never felt. Almost as though she held some sort of affection towards this wand. Still wary she looked up at the shop keeper but he did not try and take the wand from her just yet. So she decided that must be consent of sorts. Without listening to his words. Yes this was the wand for her ... of course.

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Angel Sanchez Sun Jul 28, 2013 12:12 pm

Angel prepared to enter the shop.. Ollivanders wand shop to be excaut, he was nervous, which was not an emotion he often felt, in fact - it was rather new to him and it took him several moments to realize it was nervousness he was feeling.

He felt a hand push him forward "Come on son, what you waiting for? Vamos!" His father said impatiently behind him. Angel nodded and pushed open the door. What's the worst that can happen? he thought there was a mistake with my hogwarts letter.. I'm not really magical at all. The small voice of doubt replied.

Angel stepped into the shop.. Looking around, he was in awe of all the boxes. Every witch and wizard has to start here.. In this room, with one wand with which they wall forever had an alliance. He knew the importance of this shop, had always known - his father had told him a lot about the magical world, although this was the 1st time he had ventured into - there had been little to no need before, his father didn't even practise anything magical infront of him or his younger brother.

A small man slid out of the shadows and approuched Angel and his father. He nodded politley at them. "1st time to hogwarts. I have the perfect wand for you, I am sure of it!" Before Angel even had time to blink, he was rummanging through a small pile of boxes near the wall.

"Ah yes, maybe this one." He strood forwards, handing Angel a small - what angel thought - stick. Angel took it and stood there, rather unsure what to do.

"Erm.." He began.

"Give it a wave dear boy." The small man said.

Angel did as he was told, but before he had even finished, the man had ripped it out of his hand and put it back in it's box. "No.. No.. No.." He muttered and disappeared beyond view, though Angel could hear him moving the small boxes.. "Yes, maybe this one.. Unicorn core with rosewood." Angel had him say as he appeared back into view.

Angel took the wand with slightly more confidence then before, and gave it a wave, though he was unsure what would happen, he knew it would not be the necessary effect before he had even done so.

"No." Said the man, taking it out of his hand again.

Several more wands came, having the same outcome. Angel was starting to feel like there had been a mistake.. He really was not magical like his father at all. Finally though, the man appeared, and as Angel took the wand, he felt a connection, like a hand had reached from the wand connected with his own, almost invisibly moving of it's own will, hand.

He smiled and looked down at it, before giving it a wave. Red sparks came out of the end, the 1st time one of the wands had done so.

"Yes yes, marvousle wand! Chestnut wood with a Dragonheartstring core, 10 1/4 inches, unyielding. This wand will allow you to do all you could dream of, and more!"

Angel could tell the man was excited that he had finally found the wand that had been made for him, but Angel was too busy just looking at it.. It's all real He thought, giving a rare smile.

Post by Roger Davies Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:52 pm

Roger walked into the wand shop anxious as ever to get a wand. He threw open the door and ran to the counter, over anxiously slamming his hands down on the counter. The old shopkeeper turned around and smiled.

"I need a wand my good man. My good, good man."

The shopkeep nodded and looked Roger over. He cited that Roger was "anxious, excitable, and fun loving." That being said, he went to a shelf and pulled out a wand. Redwood with troll whisker core, 12 inches. Roger grabbed it up really quick. Bad idea, the wand show out a bright gold spark and knocked the cash register clean off of the shelf. The shopkeeper took the wand back and gave Roger another, which broke most of the windows. He gave Roger another, which blew a hole in the floor. With a heavy sigh, the man finally produced a wand to Roger that made Roger feel warmth inside. He knew right away this was the right wand, and so did the shopkeeper. Silver Lime, Phoenix feather, 13 inches, with medium flexibility. It was the most perfect wand Roger had ever seen.

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Catarina Hernandez Sun Aug 04, 2013 10:36 am

"I want to try every single one" Catarina announced with delight as she looked around. She was a muggle-born witch in a wonderland. She wanted to hold all the wands. She wanted to memorize the different types of wood. She wanted to spend every second she could in the wand shop and soak in the joy of just being here. She looked brightly up at the youngish man who had approached her, the man who held the key to her future as she saw it.

She was a little too excited to hear what he was saying. However she smiled brightly up at him all the same. She heard when he said what the wand was "apple ... kelpie ... 11 ... bendy." She practically snatched it out his hand. Then handed it back and politely asked for it.  Accepting it the second time nicely she did not know what to do. Holding it in her hand she just studied at it. She then handed it back and asked for the next one.

"Well maybe try this one, but give it a real wave" the man told her with a smile offering another wand. "Hazel, Phoenix Feather, 13, Pliant."

Catarina obligingly waved the wand around with some enthusiasm. It did not feel like a wand though. It felt like she was threatening to take someones eye out with a particularly well shaped stick. Luckily Catarina never felt embarrassed even though she decided she must look like an idiot. She handed the wand back.

"Maybe slightly less waving, but great enthusiasm" the man informed her with a chuckle "Cypress, Veela hair, 15, springy."

Catarina took the wand and gave it a flick. It felt like she had touched an electrical wire. A painful spark ran through her hand where she held the wand. She gave it back shaking her head. However her spirits were not dampened and she was bright and cheerful still. It seemed like she might have to try some more.

Six different wands later Catarina was still having a great time. She had a feeling though the other people in the shop were hoping she would find a wand soon. She just did not seem to be able to produce anything but sparks and destruction.

"Holly, Unicorn tail hair, 16, quite flexible."

Catarina greeted the wand "hiya Holly, you wanna play nice for mummy." She then lifted the wand and waved it. That second she knew it was her wand. She had finally found her wand. She beamed.

"Well done Holly!"

Wands Registry Empty Re: Wands Registry

Post by Guest Sun Dec 22, 2013 8:46 pm

Aleksander walked a slow pace, stepping into the darkness of the shop. His pale, blue eyes scanning the area, keeping his guard up as if something was going to pop out. Of course, Aleksander was certain that there was no man or being that was going to stop him in his tracks. No fool would dare attack the man he was. That was something that Durmstrang made him to be. He was a strong man and the school had made him to be heartless and cold. So, Aleksander needed a wand that was just like that. He looked around, to see if the shop keeper was around but alas, the shop was empty. In which, Aleksander wasn't upset about it. In fact, he was wondering why the man was not at his post? This question swirled his mind into a spin and he slight gave a yawn, not really wanting to look for a new wand but since his original wand was broken in two due to a dueling match that he had given his students some time ago before leaving Durmstrang. He then heard foot steps pounding through the area. The man that was a bit shorter then him appeared before Aleksander. He smiled at Alek but his smile slowly vanished once he had seen the look on Aleksander's face. It was a dark look, a look that no one would dare challenge. The man gave a slight cough and said

"was there something I can help you out with?"

The man had to been joking. Why else would he be in the wand shop? It was absolutely funny and yet, not a single chuckle came out of Aleksander's mouth. His soft, death gaze now turned into a glare. His deep french accent came about as he spoke

"Why else would I be here? I am in need of a wand"

Aleksander watched as the man walked back and forth, trying to find the perfect wand, not really saying another word to the man. He then pulled a box up giving it to Aleksander

"How is...11' with Blackthorn and Phoenix feather....Lets give this a try shall we Mister?"

It did have some medium flexability when Aleksander swished it around softly. He pointed it in his dueling stance and he smiled softly. Giving the man his galleons and he softly stated

"This is one is perfect for me" He gave a thank you nod and he slowly walked out of the shop, grasping the box tightly

His grandfather had actually entrusted him with a handful of galleons and the ability to enter this particular shop by himself. Pleased, Ace had entered the store immediately and now sort of wished his grandfather was by his side. The place was... ominous to say the least. He looked around the room, slightly unsure, as he tried to determine where he needed to be.

"May I help you?" called a masculine voice. Ace turned his head to spy a slightly young man, who looked way younger than the Ollivanders he'd been told about (in his mind, Ollivander probably looked as old his his grandfather), but kind enough. Ace nodded and followed the man to the counter.

Several boxes in, one wand didn't blow something up or push him to the floor. Ace gave a pleased hum and the man cheered.

"That one is a 11" Willow, Unicorn Tail, Brittle. Quite a taming one, that is." the man whistled. Ace smiled and handed over his galleons, slightly embarrassed it was a unicorn tail but somehow that was alright, and left the store to show his wand to his grandfather.
